I'm a UX designer who turns complexity into clarity. I design human-centered workflows and cohesive systems that create consistent, intuitive experiences for people.
After graduating from the University of Washington’s School of Information, I became a Program Coordinator with GPI US, Inc., where I designed in-person study-abroad experiences for international high school students visiting Seattle from Japan. My work showcased my attention to detail and ability to empathize with my adolescent stakeholders while navigating cross-cultural work environments. As our team's Marketing & Medium Design Specialist, I standardized our digital products and branding, greatly contributing to the successful revival of our in-person programs in 2023.
Taking a step further in my global career, I began my master's studies in Interaction Science at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea. As a member of the Human-AI Interaction research lab, my work focuses on discovering the influences of culture in HCI, particularly in the space of AI service design in the travel industry.
With my expertise in front-end web design and development, and my passions for global education and youth empowerment, I aspire to achieve information accessibility and transparency in my designs.

My experience with interface design began in high school, when I was the first to fulfill the Design Editor position of my school’s national award-winning newspaper (see my Nordic News portfolio).
I discovered my fascination with design on the beautiful campus of the University of Washington. My time at the iSchool was filled with opportunities to cultivate various skill areas as an informatics professional. As a result, I feel confident in design roles, while my experience in development allows me to understand the needs of colleagues in interdisciplinary teams.
Becoming an educator was never something I imagined doing until I received the opportunity to guide high school students through the Design Thinking methodology. This experience led me to understand the perspectives of my own educators and granted me a unique joy. It is through mentoring my students toward their potential that I discover my own.

My experience with UI design began in high school, when I held the Design Editor position of my school’s national award-winning newspaper (see my Nordic News portfolio).

As a freshman in high school, I saw my Japanese language studies as simply a graduation requirement. A high school exchange trip to Japan sparked a desire to someday return to the country, and I decided to continue my language studies in university.
Spending part of my time at university as a Japan major, I examined myself as a foreign language learner and came to recognize my studies were not limited to vocabulary and grammar, but also resulted in countless relationships, a broadened perspective, and a catalyst for my future goals and dreams.
If you're interested in Japan or learning Japanese, ask me about it!
My involvement as an educator is attributed to my own studies and interest in Japan and its language. As a high schooler, I learned the basics of English as a Second Language teaching through helping Japanese middle schoolers practice conversational English. Since university, I have mentored over 1000 middle and high school students from Japan via online and on-site programs in both the US and Japan.
At first, I was uncomfortable and felt unqualified to be called 先生, teacher. However, through getting to know my students and working with other educators, I recognize the value of my work and am proud to be someone my students trust and believe in. As an educator, not only do I find joy in my students, but also in sharing my work with others interested in the field.
